OVERVIEW
Noovie Trivia is a fast-paced movie trivia game introduced to players in thousands of theaters during the pre-show to the film Avengers: Endgame. It was produced using the latest WebGL technology, allowing the game to be played in a web browser on mobile devices.
In a strategically important moment of transition for the project, I was contracted to help with the redesign of the expanded user experience, GUI and visual design of the game. Given design direction and studying an already established style guide, I gave the look of the game a more current visual appeal.
Challenge and Objective
My deliverables included wireframes and visual design comps for all game screens.
Wireframing the new levels
Visual Design
Brand voice direction table, provided by client. This is the table that inspired the explorations for the game’s backgrounds below.
Background explorations.
Backgrounds, combined with buttons explorations.
Some iterations for Main Menu screen.
Some final iterations in-situ before final hand-off to client.
Outcomes
Players can download and enjoy Noovie Trivia on both the App Store and the Google Play Store now.
The overall visual design (color palette, main menu redesign, user profile icon and backgrounds) developed by my work and the team at Thup Games were highly influential to the way the game looks and feels in its current state.
A multiplayer mode is still being developed.
